１９９１年アメリカＭＣＡ編集による４枚組のボックス・セット、ＣＤ４枚およそ４時間半収録、ＣＤはそれぞれがプラ・ケース収納、そして約７０ページの縦長の豪華ブックレットが厚紙製の箱の収められた１９９０年前後に流行したボックス・セットの仕様、音質はハイファイとして必要充分以上、パッツィ・クラインは１９３２年生まれでエルビスと同世代として１９５０年後半から活躍を始め１９６３年３月、巡業中の飛行機事故により３０歳で亡くなっている悲劇の人、現在活躍中のアリソン・クラウス世代から数えれば祖母世代の大歌手になる、アメリカの田舎の歌の上手なちょっと可愛い娘がそのままプロになった容姿であり、彼女の写真を見る度にニール・ヤングが歌った"Cowgirl in the sand"という文字がちらつく、シャウトはしないがかなりドスのきいた歌唱を得意としていたようである、ビートルズの影響が皆無の時代の王道カントリー歌手として検索すればわかるとおり膨大な数のベスト盤が発売されている、１枚もしくは２枚組の好編集盤もたくさんある、歌唱だけでなく、ナッシュビルのギター＆スティール・ギターのプロフェッショナル振りが好きな人にもお奨めの歌手（何曲かで聞けるカッティングによるリズムの素晴らしさ、残念ながらジョージ・ハリソンはこの水準には届かなかったですね）、例えば、トム・ペティ、Ｒ．Ｅ．Ｍ．エルビス・コステロ方面のファンにも一度は聞くことをお奨めします、なお、ブックレットには全レコーディング・データが記載、本セットは残念ながら全録音集ではない、ブックレットにはパッツィの飛行機事故を伝える新聞のコピーが折り込まれている、彼女たちの乗っていたのは単機という、のちに多くのロック・バンドがジェット機を自家用として北米を興行しているビッグ・ビジネスぶりと比較すれば当時のショー・ビジネス界がずいぶんとこじんまりした印象を受け感慨深い、 |
